As a key part of the House of Commons Connected Leadership Programme, 5R is designed to give leaders the insight and experience they need to be effective leaders of the diverse and complex teams that are characteristic of contemporary workplaces.
Unlike many other such programmes, 5R is informed by cutting-edge scientific research that has been conducted by a large team of researchers at the University of Queensland together with their colleagues around the world. In particular, the 5R modules and activities translate insights set out in the award-winning book The New Psychology of Leadership into practice.
5R centres around five modules (the 5Rs), each of which contain a structured set of activities designed to give leaders the confidence and skills to engage with, direct, and build the sense of social identity (or ‘us-ness’) that has been shown to lie at the heart of healthy, inclusive, and productive teams.
